61st Street Trailer Reveals Courtney B. Vance’s Tense Crime Series

For those of us who have been waiting for more information on the highly anticipated police thriller, 61st street, AMC Networks has blessed us with an official trailer. Slated for two seasons, the new series’ launch date is April 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. For those without a cable plan, you can catch 61st street on AMC+ and ALLBLK, both of which will share the first two episodes on April 10. If you find yourself on the edge of your seat at the end of each week’s new episode, streaming is the way to go as each episode will launch on AMC+ and ALLBLK a week before they debut on the network.

61st street focuses on Chicago’s notoriously dark criminal justice system. Focusing on the city’s police and pursuit teams, the show will follow a drug case gone wrong that begins to undermine the credibility of those sworn to protect and serve.


With a cast that is sure to impress, the series showcases the talents of Courtney B. VanceOscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Holt McCallany, Tosin Cole, Andrene Ward-Hammondand Green Bentley. As well as the incredible actors who bring this story to life, there’s a production team that includes the BAFTA winner Pete Moffat, J. David Shanksas well as Michael B. JordanOutlier Society. Moffat and Shanks will serve as executive producers alongside Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo under the Outlier Society banner. Alana Mayo, Jeff Freilichand Hilary Salmon will complete the executive production team.

The trailer opens with Franklin Roberts (Vance), a lawyer who hopes to set the record straight and protect his client, Moses (Cole). Giving a rousing speech to the jury, the calm in Roberts’ voice is shattered as the teaser quickly descends into chaos. Questions surrounding Roberts’ credibility are immediately set in motion by Lt. Tardelli (McCallany) who wonders how the attorney tracked down the suspect in front of the police. After a heartfelt moment between Roberts and his wife, Martha (Ellis), the teaser plunges once again into madness and confusion before ending.

With a build like this, 61st street will not be a series to miss. Knowing that we have two full seasons to come, the drama that the trailer promises the series to deliver is even more exciting.
