The TV production crew vehicles arrived at the B&M car park in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday May 20.
Filming is expected to take place in the coming days in Burnham. The Esplanade Sud is closed to traffic this Monday, May 23 for the whole day.
All the details about the TV show are reported here.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman adds: “With a core cast in the late 60s and 70s, Truelove breaks the rules for older on-screen characters and flips ageist tropes on their heads in a series that promises thrilling twists, irreverent humor and passionate romance. ”
“Join our dynamic duo: Phil played by award-winning actress Julie Walters (National Treasure, Indian Summers), a former police chief enjoying a comfortable if boring retirement, and Ken played by Clarke Peters, shown below in Brean(The Wire, Da 5 Bloods), a divorcee and former Special Forces vet who feels the same at sea. Phil and Ken were teenage sweethearts and though life moved on, they never really made it to forget.
Actress Julie Walters says, “I had basically retired from acting and wasn’t sure anything would tempt me again, but then I read Truelove. I was completely bowled over by the writing – the dark humour, the love story and the thriller element set against the backdrop of what happens to all of us as we approach our senior years. I love Phil’s character – smart, funny and tough. How many times do you have the chance, at my young age, to play the main role in a television series? »
