Spider-Man’s Andrew Garfield in a first look at a true-crime series
Disney+ true crime thriller Under the banner of heaven released a new image of Andrew Garfield detective Jeb Pyre.
It’s been a busy few months for the actor, who reprized the role of Peter Parker in December’s Multiverse show. Spider-Man: No Coming Home before receiving a Best Actor Oscar nomination in February.
Now, in his first leading television role, Garfield must investigate a murder possibly linked to the Mormon Church.

Also starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (normal people), Sam Worthington (Avatar 2), Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Denise Gough (Andor) and Succession Kieran Culkin’s favorite younger brother, Rory, the drama is based on real events chronicled in Jon Krakauer’s 2003 book Under Heaven’s Banner: A Story of Violent Faith.
Dustin Lance BlackMilk) wrote the screenplay, while David Mackenzie (outlaw king)Thomas Schlame (Card castle) and Isabel Sandoval share direct credits.
The show’s seven-episode synopsis reads, “A devout detective’s faith is tested as he investigates a brutal murder that appears to be tied to the spiral of a valued family of Utah to LDS fundamentalism and its distrust of government.”

Meanwhile, Edgar-Jones can currently be seen in a ‘must see’ film Costs, which is set to premiere on Disney+ later this month.
“It’s a hard movie to say [something about] because the joy of coming into it and not having any idea what’s coming…I would say it’s definitely not for the shy or the easily nauseous,” she recently told Graham Norton .
“I really hate horrors too. But I don’t know if you find that…but I think sometimes when you do something that has elements of darkness, you really get a lot more hysterical.”
